Hi, everyone.
It's been a while since I have visited this website, even if the community is relatively low, and game production has slowed down. I have been really busy lately and I had little time to do my own works.
This post is going to be a little long and I hope you read it all through or maybe get an AI to summarize this.
I'm planning to finally close the Ages Team studio for good at some point in this year. I know this may sound really sad to a lot of the long-term followers, and even it hurts me to say this, but at least the important thing you should know is that we made some good history, even if things didn't go the way we planned. Almost 8 years of developing video games, we could've hit 10 years, but we can't.
The reason why I'm closing the studio this year is because most of my friends have gone to college and wanted to pursue something else in life. They also said to me that their memories of making games with me will never be forgotten. Even my best friend (or ex), Daisy, is moving away along with the others after she graduates this year.
Don't worry, we won't close now. We're still working on a couple new things before we split up. Though, production will slow down because we're working on the games remotely instead of IRL meetings like we used to, plus, we got school and family business to take care of.
However, I will say that there is a possibility that Ages Team's legacy might continue even after the IRL staff is moving away. Either it is closed for good (and memories won't be forgotten) or the studio will downgrade into an online version, which will be Ages Online Studio. However, I might not be the host of that one anymore because I'm planning to create a completely original Anime that will be targeted to all players completely outside of Scratch, and that one will finally be a game I'll put on for sale, possibly on Steam and/or on GameJolt. I'll still use TurboWarp for the said project, but after I develop a decent community and grew a good enough of reputation, then I will finally move on from Scratch for good and use higher-end game engines to continue my work for the community.
If Ages Team's legacy continues after closure, then my good friend, @CodeChris will probably be the host of the online studio.
Even after Ages Tean's closure, I'll try to keep all of the games and this website open as much as possible so that you can come back and revisit our legacy at any time. I'll also be holding the rights of all games my friends and I have made IRL, including Sonic 2 Expanded v0.9 (not the entire Expanded series).
Now that you guys have known what is going to happen, I'll lend you a few updates.
Heaven Saga (2023)
This game has recently received a major update, and it has been updated to v2.0. This includes extra controller support (and vibrations, too), major artwork improvements, cutscene improvements, and more. Here is the post where I explained everything: https://gamejolt.com/p/v0-2-0-is-now-launched-an-n7figjqj
V0LT City
This game has been pretty slow, but we are working on the first boss of the world and after that, we'll release the first playable build. Here's the game page on GameJolt: https://gamejolt.com/games/v0lt-city/923079
Kevin & Friends - Video Game 3 (NEW)
This one is actually a new project we're starting, and I wanted this to be the best in the series before Ages Team closes and splits up. This one will be built exclusively on TurboWarp with lots of custom extensions and stuff. The first stage is currently under development, so we'll keep you in touch with this one.
I hope you'll understand what will happen to Ages Team. We're probably the first Scratch-related team to last this long, and I'm grateful to create such a good studio. Maybe the legacy will continue somehow. We may be moving away, but our memories won't.
Let's not get too sad right now, we got a long journey of life ahead of us. Be safe out there guys.
Stay with the great ages.
